I Love the sky line. I have always looked up to the majestic sky and see all those clouds pass though the blue, dark grey, orange, red, twilight sky.
I have many a times looked up to the sky and seen a majestic sight and captured in with my mobile phone camera or a pocket camera or even my DSLR.
Sometimes even when i am driving i try to take picture as i drive because every picture has a story right so i want to say i took this as i was driving.... Yeah i know it can get me killed
But what can i say when it comes to taking a picture of the sky your seeing there is no time to waste. In nano seconds the sight will change.
Usually when i am doing night work on the stars or the big moon in the sky i keep not one but 2 SD cards ready......
Set my camera up on the tripod and get the shot right and to get the best of the capture of the changing skyline i take a few pictures and then swap the memory card and check on the laptop and i always use a remote shutter switch so keep clicking the shot as i do this and swap again to see if i got a great shot in the last set.. keep doing this till i am satisfied with the shot or angle and look thought the view finder again... i take about 50 to 100 shots in one scene.
When taking skyline picture i guess the things i keep as important in my head are below
ISO: - simple set this first.. more vivid colors the larger ISO and then play with the below.
Shutter Speed: - based on wind speed and objects in you image if there are birds then...they will move ending up as lines or looking like birds.. so based on the speed of the capture you want.
Aperture: - this would be based in the time of day and the amount of light on the camera.. see you don't want to take photo of the sun at a f/4 and a Shutter speed of 1/30 all you get is a bright white photo...
So a low f number at low light and a higher f number at brighter image. But some situations are different so its all trial and error... so the 2 SD memory cards work... very will for me..
